“I submitted a request using ratedpeople.com for knocking down a few walls and replacing the floor in two rooms. I immediately received a few responses from various individuals, who I subsequently met over the next 48 hours.


From the start, I was confident that Charles was the best option, given that I felt very comfortable that he would do a great job and that he wouldn't find ways to constantly revise his estimates. In addition, while other builders were saying that they weren't sure about X and Y, Charles' additional qualifications as a plumber and electrician meant there was no uncertainty about whether something could be done or not done...and no need to possibly spend more money involving other people.


Unbelievably, Charles managed to complete all the work within a very short timeframe to a fantastic level of quality. Not only did he do everything that I requested, I also felt that he was constantly thinking about whether there was anything he could do that would make it even better (such as re-plastering and painting one of the ceilings...all of which he did at no extra cost irrespective of the additional work that he needed to do).


In addition, I ended up having to travel during the period that Charles and his team were doing the work. Rather than putting the work on hold, I felt comfortable leaving the keys with Charles to continue doing the work while I was away.

As expected, he treated the security of my apartment as if it was his own. In addition, he kept me updated on progress made while I was out of the country and, when he finished all the work, Charles and his team made sure the entire apartment was clean and ready for me.


In general, a fantastic service where I felt that Charles' main priority was that I would be happy with the final look and feel of the apartment, and that he wouldn't cut corners or try to raise the price during the process, despite me making some changes while the work was being conducted.

Lastly, he was conscious that I was under some cost constraints, and so constantly worked with me to ensure I received the highest level of value for money from the materials that were purchased.


Without a doubt, I would use Charles exclusively from now on for any work that I needed to do.”
